About Billy Wells

I was controller for one of the world’s largest architectural firms in Washington, DC for sixteen years and then in New York City for almost twenty-four years. I am currently retired and living in The Villages, Florida.with my better half, Ursula. My son, Chris ,and his wife, Dana are school teachers in New Jersey.

I walked through the World Trade Center fifteen minutes before the first plane hit the North tower and worked only a few blocks away on Wall Street.

Although pursuing accounting as a career path, I have always had a great interest in creative writing. I have written more than 200 songs, writing both the music and/or lyrics and collaborating with numerous writers and musicians through the years. I signed 39 publishing agreements with a host of publishers and almost realized a cut on Vanessa Williams’ “Sweetest Days” album; however, 39 times my dreams did not come to fruition. I have written many poems and one screenplay.

I have always enjoyed horror and from an early age wrote numerous short stories in that genre. Some of those early stories are in my first collection, “Black As Night.”. I have published ten horror collections and various other groupings of my 171 short stories and a book of poetry and song lyrics, which are all available on Amazon.com. The average review rating for all my published books on Amazon is 4.3.

I have trailers of my horror books, my song videos, and my very popular Dead Celebrities videos on You Tube, where I am approaching 2,700,000 hits on my Coffeesmoke, Billy Wells Horror, and Billy Wells Music channels.

I love movies and had seen over 1,500 by the age of 13 when there was snow on 13 channels after midnight.

My favorite horror movies are Halloween, Night of the Living Dead, the Evil Dead, and the Ring. My favorite movie of all time Is Frank Capra’s It’s A Wonderful Life with James Stewart.

I read new novels constantly. My favorite authors are Stephen King, Ray Bradbury, Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child, John Sandford, Michael Connelly, Robert B. Parker , Clive Cussler, James Patterson, Jeffery Deaver, Dean Koontz, Edgar Allen Poe, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, James Lee Burke , Richard Matheson, Lee Child, Jack Ketchum, and Jack Kilborn.
